It's been a little over a week and I'm still recovering from surgery. It has been pure hell. It really has. I just read some forums from people that are recovering from surgery and I really wish I had read them before the surgery. About 99% of them said how much worse it was than they thought. I don't know how many females said they would do birth naturally any day over this surgery. The only comfort I got from reading all that was that the earaches I've been having are normal. The Dr. dais earaches would be normal, but they were getting really bad. It hurts just to lay down to sleep. I am a little better, but not where I'd like to be.
I have cried so much over how much pain I've been in. It's so frustrating to be in so much pain and not be able to get 100% relief. I hate not being able to eat regular food. I try but it hurts and then I end up paying for it later. I am so hungry all the time, but it just hurts so bad to swallow. I want a big, juicy hamburger. I want to sleep. It is impossible to sleep. If I don't wake up due to the dry throat, it's because of my ears. They feel like they are going to burst. I am really sensitive to sound too. The rustling of a chip bag was too loud for me.
I am bloated too. Can't lay down on my side or back to sleep. My whole body aches. So fed up with this. Sleepy now, we'll see if I can get any rest. It's 5:20am Sunday morning and I have yet to fall asleep. That's all for now

Surgery is awful!
Recovering from surgery is quite painful! I got no sleep last night. Every time I started dosing off, I'd start snoring because I'm swollen. The snoring would wake me up every time because it hurt. So a little after 5am, I finally fell asleep for a little bit. I have been napping throughout the day. Craig has been amazing taking care of me. Adam isn't feeling well, so he's been fussy today.
I got some solids down today. All I had yesterday was water and pudding. I want some real food!!! I'll get there. I hope this was the first and last surgery I'll ever have. Jen dropped off some ice cream and fruit smoothies yesterday. And dinner is being taken care of until tomorrow night. It's so nice to know that there's good friends I can count on.
Lauren and Adam will be at Rashel Jacobsen's house next week while I'm still recovering. I think I will miss them since they'll be gone all day. Even though they are around now, I can't really be engaged with them and I feel like they haven't been around much.
So that's my complaining for now. I hope things are better tomorrow.

Tonsils be gone!
I had surgery today to get my tonsils taken out. I had gotten over my 2nd case of strep throat for the year when I decided to see a specialist. He said it wasn't normal to get that many in a year and that it would just keep happening. My options were to treat them, get on antibiotics all the time or surgery. I figured if I was out of commission for a few days every time I got strep, I might as well be out of commission a few more days and get the surgery done. It went well. I am in pain, but I have been told I will be glad in the long run.
Craig took today off and will be home tomorrow too. Rashel Jacobsen will watch Lauren and Adam next week. I am hoping to be better by the end of this weekend and won't need Rashe; to watch them all week. I would miss my babies! Even with all the fighting and crying. Go figure!
Young Women's is going well. I am worried about some of the girls. They keep me up at night sometimes when I can't sleep. Ultimately, I think I just have to do the best I can as their leader and let go of what the parents aren't doing. It's hard to watch some of these girls not get any advice or counsel or guidelines from their parents. I can make the most of the time I do get to spend with them on Sunday and Thursday nights. I hope I can a difference and be an example to them. We have a really good presidency. We get along well and have the same goals for the girls.
The kids have 1 more week of school left. I am ready. But not really. Ready to not have to get them going and ready in the morning. NOT ready to have more fighting, crying, arguing. I will have to come up with some fun things to keep us busy. I will get pool passes but I'd also like to have other things planned so we can have some structure and we won't drive each other nuts!

A GREAT Mother's Day!
Yesterday was Mother's Day. It was a perfect day. The kids gave me all sorts of homemade gifts. Cards, stuff they found around the house, dandelions they picked when they went on their walk. Loved them all! Oh yeah, lots of hugs and kisses too. Simply the best. We went to church, had some cute treat bags that sombody obviously very talented and creative put together. ;) Came home and had pork loin with mashed potatoes and green beans. Topped off with homemade cookies. Thanks to my Babe for such an awesome day! I would have to say that was THE best Mother's Day I've had in a while.
Stephanie Nielson has just made a video clip of what her life is like now after the accident. I watched it yesterday and cried like a baby. I love her message. She basically said that she has a new appreciation for motherhood and what that means and entails. After the accident she has come to appreciate the mundane tasks of being a mother. I need to do that more. I think of how difficult it must be for her to do simple tasks and how blessed I am that I have two perfectly good hands to do so much. I need to do more for my family. I realized that I am willing to do for the ward, but I should put my family first. A good goal to have, I think.
Caleb has finished soccer. Didn't make any more goals but still had fun. A few things he's said lately that have left us laughing: There's 1 slice of Hawaiian pizza left and he and Lauren are fighting over it. I asked: "What would Jesus do?" Caleb's answer: "Give it to me!" He wasn't joking either. Unbelieveable! There was something else he said but I can't remember at the moment.
I had quite the day last Thursday. I had a YW presidency meeting that morning. After that I went to Paola to get the oil changed in the van. I knew there was something wrong with it, but was planning on taking it somewhere else. In the process of changing the oil and checking it over, they found what was wrong. It was going to be a while, so they drove me to Walmart. Adam had leaked so he had no shorts on. So here we are at Walmart, no shorts on Caleb, not having eaten lunch. I get a couple of corndogs at the deli and we're sitting at a bench, pantless, eating corndogs. Quite the sight. We made it in one piece and over $500.00 later, the van is fixed.
The kids are almost finished with school. They are having lots of concerts, plays and field trips. I am ready for it to be out too. I will be glad when we don't have to be anywhere but the pool this summer.
Our 14th anniversary is tomorrow!!! 14 years, wow!! At times it doesn't feel like it's been that long, and at other times it feels like it's been longer than that. We have had some good years and some bad years. I think it's a miracle that we made it through my depression and school and a new baby in such a short amount of time while living in Utah. If we made it through that, I think we can make it through anything. Who would have thought that I'd be married with 5 kids and living in Kansas? I guess when I look back at what I wanted when I got older, it's not so different than what I have. I knew I wanted to get married in the temple to a great man. I knew I wanted kids, probably 4, but what would we do without our Adam? I knew where I didn't want to live and Kansas wasn't on that list, sobasically I am right where I should be. I also knew things/life wouldn't be easy, but I didn't know it would be this difficult. I didn't know how much heartache I would have to endure. I know I have grown from all my trials though and will continue to have trials. I just read a quote from a church leader that said that in life you can either laugh or cry and he chose to laugh because crying gave him a headache. Good advice!
Things are great. That's all for now.

Update
Haven't had a whole lot happen, but I know I still need to write about what we have going on. My little princess Lauren had her birthday. She turned 4. She's such a sweet little thing. She wanted everything princess. I took her to Panda Express for lunch and she thought that was just great. On our way home she said: " I never been there before. It was so fun!" Adam really liked it too.
Caleb had another soccer game. He had his shake but no goals this time. It's good to see him more engaged in the game and having fun.
Audry got in big trouble this week. I found out she had been forging Craig's and my initials on her assignment book. She was doing the work but she just didn't prepare well and had already gotten in trouble for not getting it signed. I guess she figured it would be better to sign it herself. She did feel pretty bad about it. She is grounded until school gets out. I hope she learns her lesson and we never have to deal with this again.
I have had no motivation to do anything lately. Not sure what my problem is. I will do better this week.
That's about it. Not very exciting. I guess that's good.
