These are a few papers Caleb brought home that made me laugh.

My Bear does not like school. He does not like the busy work. He can do it, he just doesn't want any part of it. His favorite classes in school are recess and P.E. and computers. Gotta love my Bear!!!

Things seen and done around the house

Whenever Adam finds a football, he picks it up and says: "Cath mom/dad!" That's what he did on this particular day when he asked Craig to play catch. But he stopped and said he needed a helmet and picked up this pink Easter basket. Now he's all set! But then he decided that Craig needed a helmet too...

Today was a BEAUTIFUL Sunday. Sunny, warm, perfect. Naturally, the ice cream truck came through our neighborhood. Caleb asked Craig if he could get one. Craig said no because it was Sunday (not to mention that anything from an ice cream truck costs a lot!) Then Cooper came to us holding some kind of frozen treat and said Caleb had gotten his own money and bought it!! Needless to say he got in trouble and a lecture. BEAR!!!!

After church Craig and I were up in our room just talking and apparently didn't get to the kitchen fast enough to get Adam lunch. He was at the table making his own quesadilla!!! He had the tortilla and was doing a pretty good job of putting the cheese on it. He was quite proud of himself. I wish I had grabbed the camera because he had quite the look. A proud look but a naughty look at the same time.

St Patricks Day/More things heard around the house

This morning while helping Caleb get dressed he was telling me he HAD to wear green so he wouldn't get pinched. He wanted me to make sure Adam and Lauren also wore green. When I was making his breakfast, he very casually said: "Top o' the morning!"

Then he was off to school. When I drop him off I always remind him to say "good morning and thank you" when the teacher opens the door for him. So this morning he says... "Top o' the morning" to the teacher. It made me laugh. That's my Bear!!!!

Things heard around my house

Lately the kids have been saying some funny things. I thought I would start blogging about those because I know I will forget them and it will be nice for them to read when they are older. So here it goes:

Scenario~ Laren, Adam and I were coming in the house from the van that's parked in our driveway. There's a neighbor walking by with her 2 kids and dog.

Lauren: Look at that big thing

Me: What big thing? ( I turn to where she's pointing; in the direction of the walking neighbor)

Me: It's a dog!

Lauren: Looks at it for a few seconds and then says, "it looks like a cow!"

The dog was a pretty big great dane with black and white spots all over it.

Scenario~ All over the place. At home, in the car, etc...

Adam: How you thtop? (this is in the car and the word is stop)

Me: I press down on the brake

Adam: whereth the brake

Me: down by my feet

Next stop we make...

Adam: how you thtop?

you get the idea!

Adam: what kind food ith thith? (this is at the dinner table or snacking)

Me: pasta

Adam: what kind of pathta?

Me: just regular pasta

Adam: ith it pithy (spicy)

Me: no, just regular

Later in the day...

Adam:what kind thereal (cereal) ith thith? (is this, if you haven't figured it out)

Adam: ith thith regular thereal?

Me: YES!!!

On a different note. Something awful happened today. Japan experienced an 8.9 (I believe) earthquake today. As if that wasn't enough, a tsunami soon followed. They are not sure how many lost their lives. Some of the footage I've seen looks horrific. The videos I've seen on tv brought back some very vivid memories of the earthquake in Mexico. The shaking that went on and on is what they have shown and it is what I remember most. I cannot watch anymore news about that. I am surprised how much it has affected me, more than any other earthquakes of similar size that I've heard about in the past. Praying for all those affected by it.
